Hardcover with dj.  Illustrated with b/w photogrpahs. 302pp. VG condition with Good dj.  Jacket is shelfworn with small tears along edges and a 2" closed tear at top of spine and foxing on inside flaps.  Black cloth boards have minor sun fading at top of spine.  Dust spots to top edge.  Foxing where text pages abut photographic pages (two places).  Owner name penned to front pastedown and ffep. Otherwise clean, unmarked, square, and securely bound. The author "with an intimate knowledge of the desert, its lore and legend...covers this vast piece of sun-struck geography in all its aspects from prehistory up to the present". (cfm)

Gilt decorated blue cloth boards shelfworn with fabric wear at extremities; library number inked to spine. Library markings include sticker on front pastedown, and small stamp to margins of full page illustrations. Foxing through the title page, very little thereafter.  Both hinges cracked but pages securely held. Internally quite clean.  (cfm)

London; Faber and Faber Limited, [1955]. First Edition. Hardcover with dj. 172pp. Good+ condition in a Good+ jacket. Unclipped jacket worn around the edges and folds, and lightly soiled. Blue cloth boards a bit worn with wear to the gilt titling on spine; owner name penned to ffep; a few pencil markings internally and slightly cocked but overall a pretty nice copy.  This book focuses on Kenya in mid 20th century, and how three races (European, Asiatic, and African) coexist.  (cfm)
