LET US NOW PRAISE FAMOUS MEN. THREE TENANT FAMILIES

Boston:Houghton Mifflin Company. (1960). Second printing, stated. xxii+471pp. Illustrated with photographs. Hardcover with dust jacket.  A very good, clean copy. Light mottling to black boards, with silver print to spine still bright. Light soiling to page edges. Internally, aside from some age-toning to front and rear end-pages, a very good clean copy. No previous owners marks or signatures. The dust jacket has done it's job well, still in one piece, but soiled with wear and some small tears to all edges and folds. *From the jacket..."In the summer os 1936, James Agee and Walker Evans were sent on a journalistic assignment to discover and disclose the actual daily lives of typical sharecropper families in the South. They found and lived with treee families for one month, and put together words and photographs that were eloquent, original and devasting...In the original edition thirty-one pictures - just half the number Walker Evans intented to publish - were printed. Now the full compliment of photographs is appearing"
