NAKED CITY
New York:Essential Books. (1945). 246pp. Illustrated with many photographs. Hardcover. Beige boards slightly soiled and shelfworn with a name printed in ink on the front board. Edge points gently bumped and spine ends worn. Internally, end-papers are decorated with photographs of the photographer getting his boots on and working out of his trunk (which doubled as his dark room/office). The dedication page has a tear at the bottom where it was roughly seperated from the copyright page and the last page has some inked writing on it. The paper throughout is slightly age toned. The binding is tight but the front hinge has started. *Arthur Fellig was a noted street/crime scene photographer, nicknamed Weegee, "a phonetic spelling of ouija, because of his frequent, seemingly prescient arrivals at scenes only minutes after crimes, fires or other emergencies were reported to authorities" (Wikipedia)
