Hardcover.  Volume 1 front board is moderately soiled, with wear to edges and chipping to lower ended of spine.  Volume 2 boards bright with very little wear. Page edges dust stained on both volumes. Both volumes have light age-toning to first and last few pages, and a very occasional spot of foxing or a smudge scattered throughout.  No previous owners marks or signatures. Both bindings are tight and hinges intact.  Overall, a very good set.
