Hardcover.  Red boards with gilt on spine (quite dulled) and front cover still bright, lightly soiled and sun-faded, with light wear along edges. Internally, a previous owners large bookplate to inside front board but otherwise clean. There is an occassional spot of foxing, usually adjacent to plates, scattered throughout. The binding is tight and hinges intact.
