Hubert Latham (1883-1912) was a French aviation pioneer. He was the first to attempt the crossing of the English Channell by aeroplane, failing twice. He was killed in a Buffalo attack in Chad in 1912.
This photograph is from the personal collection of Adams Claflin, who besides being an early aviation enthusiast, served as the general manager of both the 1910 and 1911 Harvard-Boston Aero Meets.
The photograph has a couple light crease on the bottom left and a very small crease on the top right, see photograph provided.
