Otherwise in good condition. Book itself is only mildly shelf-won. Interior is clear, bright and free of stray markings. Overall, this is a very good copy in a good dust jacket.

Good condtion. Covers are age toned with some handling grime and deterioration with loss of material in the lower 20mm of front. Spine fabric missing about 50%. Inside is fairly clean with an owner's penned name, scattered spots, handling grime and a couple small dampstains. A fairy tale told in English by translator B.H. Chamberlain, illustrated with lovely color illustrations by Hasegawa, and printed on delicate folded crepe paper. (cfm)

Brown decorated boards lightly soiled and shelfworn, with sun-fading to edges of boards and spine strip. There is a small hole to front gutter, and top of spine end is worn and frayed. Internally, a previous owners gift inscription to 2nd free endpage, otherwise pages clean. Some tissue guards are age toned but plates are clean and bright.

Internally clean, free of previous owners marks or signatures. The binding is tight, front hinge intact with rear just starting. Overall, a very good copy.

Hardcover with slipcase. Blue textured cloth boards lightly sunfaded along spine strip but still in very good condition. Internally clean, free of previous owners marks or signatures. Slipcase is slightly soiled but still in very good condition. *With collected essays by Henry Miller on the art of watercolor, a foreward by Lawrence Durrell.

A very good, clean copy with a very good, slightly edgeworn dust jacket. *This book deals exclusively and authoritatively with the "Pier-head Artists" and their work. This was the name given by seamen to the artists who supplied them with portraits of the ships they sailed in, pictures which a century ago changed hands for a few shillings and are now eagerly sought after by collectors and museums.
