Leather is rubbed, and scraped away in a few spots.  Spine leather is decoratively tooled top to bottom and remains very attractive. No internal markings.  Foxing throughout.  Square and securely bound. An extensive history of Catholic Missions in the US, by John Gilmay Shea who was awarded an honorary degree from Georgetown University for his work as a Catholic historian.  (cfm)
