Chicago:Robert Smith Printing Co. (1901). 256pp. 1st edition. Illustrated by Mabel Tibbitts. Hardcover. Decorated boards lightly rubbed and soiled, with wear to edges and edge points. Internally, a previous owners name is penciled to the 1st free flyleaf, but otherwise the pages are clean and bright (except for page 253/4 which had some small plant leaves left to dry). Pages are each decorated in a different color.  The binding is tight and hinges intact.

Dakota."  According to the ozwiki website..."This book has long been cited as one of the most notable of the Oz imitations that appeared in print following the success of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz in 1900...The first edition of Zauberlinda featured copious illustrations, including monochrome pictures under the text in the style of the first Oz book."
