Boston, MA:The Stratford Company, Publisher. (1930). 1st edition. vii+292pp. Illustrated. Hardcover with dust jacket. Signed/inscribed by the Author on the 1st free end-page. Book in very good, clean condition. Internally, aside from the inscription, no other marks or signatures found. The binding is tight and hinges intact. The dust jacket is in good condition. Still in one piece, but lightly soiled along spine strip and upper front panel, with wear to all edges and seams. The front panel has a closed tear along the gutter, traveling about 3/4's up from the bottom edge, and then going about half way across the spine strip at the author's name. Designed by J. S. Kirshen, the imagery is still vibrant, despite the soiling.  *Barnes, who received his Ph.D. in Penology from Columbia in 1918, was an American historian who taught history at Columbia University from 1918-1929. While once highly regarded as a historian, by the end of the 1950's he had lost credibility because of the major role he played in the inception of the Holocaust denial movement.
