Ex-lib (only a single marking, a stamp to p1 of Vol 2). Good condition. Boards well worn and stained with a little tearing of fabric. Corners strongly bumped. Gilt titling to spine still bright. Some minor pencil notes on endpapers. Most pages are in original uncut condition. Some foxing (primarily to pages adjacent to illustrations) and dampstains in places but most of text generally clean. Bindings are secure but are cracking at hinges. Holman (1786-1857), a.k.a. the blind traveler, writes of his observations during travels through Russia in the early 19th century. (cfm)
