PORO, OPERA IN TRE ATTI, THE WORKS OF GEORGE FREDERIC HANDEL

This copy is in Good+ condition. The blue cloth boards have sunfading, spots and stains, including a small dampstain on a rear corner.  Internally that dampstain very slightly affects corners of the last few pages. The contents are in otherwise fine condtion, clean and unmarked, with sharp corners and no foxing. The binding is square and tight. We obtained this copy directly from the publisher, it has never been privately owned. "The opera PORO was finished on the 16th Jan. 1731, and produced at the Haymarket Theatre on the next following 2nd February. The words are taken from Metastasio's 'Alessandro nell Indie', of which the dialogue is breatly abridged, and in places completely transformed." (cfm)
