Hardcover.  Purple boards soiled, faded and shelfworn, with wear along all edges, spine ends chipped and fraying and edge points worn to boards. Internally endpages age toned, with a previous owners name and date (1872) inked to top of inside front board and a second name penciled to 3rd free endpage. With engraved title page with tissue guard and mild smuding/soiling scattered throughout. The binding is tight and hinges intact.  Introduction signed Uncle Tobias.
