Embossed blue boards soiled and shelfworn with spine strip darkened and spine ends edgeworn. Page edges soiled.  Internally the front cover of the dust jacket has been secured to the inside front board with a dust jacket flap attached to the inside rear board.  The 1st free flyleaf has two inscriptions signed (and dated) by the Author.  The first to a "W.F.W. in token of friendship, William Dana Orcutt; 20 March 1922" and the second " 'Somewhere between conflicting elements there is always a balance'. Inscribed for Marion Chapin (?) by her friend 'the Author' William Dana Orcutt, 19 June, 1930".  Other than the inscriptions, the pages are age-toned but clean.  The binding is tight and hinges intact. A good copy, signed by Author.
