The binding is tight and hinges intact, but cracked at pp.478/479. *Beatty was a journalist who, accompanied by John Reed, LouiseBryant and others, went on a trip to Russian in 1917. She interviewed Leon Trotsky and members of the Women's Battalion, whose courage and strength impressed her. This is her book about that trip.
