RECORD OF AN OBSCURE MAN

RECORD OF AN OBSCURE MAN

Boston:Ticknor and Fields. 1861. 1st edition. 216pp. Brown pebbled cloth binding lightly soiled and shelfworn with wear along edges and to spine ends with top end starting to fray. Title in gilt on spine is quite dulled. Internally, previous owners name and addesses are penciled and inked to 1st free end-page, otherwise, aside from some age-toning to paper and an occassional smudge, a very good clean copy.  The binding is tight with hinges intact.  *Putnam was the sister of James Russell Lowell and an abolitionist in her own right. This book is a novel about a northern man's travels through the South. Wright II,#1980.
