London:David Bogue. 1855. 1st edition. 222pp. Illustrated with numerous engravings. Hardcover. Red boards with gilt decoration on front cover are soiled and shelfworn, with wear along edges, spine ends starting to chip and fray with small tears to gutter edges at both ends, and edge points gently bumped and worn to boards. The spine strip has darkened with gilt dulled and something has stuck, about midway on spine.  Internally, end pages are age-toned with a previous owners bookplate to inside front board, otherwise pages clean. The binding is tight and hinges intact.
