Internally end-pages lightly age toned but free of previous owners marks or signatures except for some numbers penciled to the inside rear board with a red pen through them.  The binding is tight with hinges intact.  The dust jacket is lightly soiled and shelfworn, with wear to edges and folds. It is not price clipped.  *This title won the Pulitzer prize for fiction in 1942, and was basis for John Houston film starring Bette Davis and Olivia de Havilland.
