Hardcover.  Rust colored boards decorated in gilt on front cover and spine strip, lightly soiled, rubbed and shelfworn, with wear along edges (with what looks like a bit of a nibble to bottom edge of front board), spine ends, and edge points almost to boards.  Page edges soiled.  Internally, decorated end-pages slightly age-toned but otherwise clean with a previous owners inked inscription to 2nd free end-page but otherwise pages are clean. The binding is tight and square with fornt hinge intact and rear just starting. A very good, clean copy.  *"Though boys are provided for, girls have no book that will be a trustworthy guide, either in work or play: and it is hoped that the present one will fill that 'long unoccupied niche'"...Forward, pp. iii-iv
