Rear cover is soiled. Internally clean and bright, with no stray markings. There is a gift inscription inked onto the first free end-paper. Otherwise a very good, clean copy.

Lacks pagination. 52 photographic plates photographed by E. H. Hart plus 3-pages of text reprinted from "THE ARMY AND NAVY JOURNAL" of November 18th, 1887. Oblong. Illustrations are very good with full margins. Spine previously damaged but repaired. Marble end papers added to strenghen repaired spine binding. Front binding has an atractive gold-embossed depiction of an American man-of-war. Shore participants in these evolutions included the Newport Torpedo Station and Fort Adams. Ships of the Atlantic Squadron included the RICHMOND, ATLANTA, OSSIPEE, GALENA AND DOLPHIN. All are depicted in original photographs including their enlisted crews and officers. Also depicted are the various evolutions, and landing tactics.
