Washington: Cornelius Wendell. 1856. 1206 pp. Hardcover. Binding is significantly worn at the edges and more notably at the spine, which is chipped and torn. Top and bottom edges of the spine are covered with black duct tape presumably to hold everything together. Some water damage to the bottom front, towards the spine. Internally, first free end-paper has several previous owner's signature's inked and penciled on. Inside front board has a library book plate affixed. Some water staining to the first and last 20 pages or so.

Binding is only lightly worn at the edges and spine, with some faint soiling to the covers. Interior is clean, bright and free of stray markings, save for an inscription from the author (General Westmoreland) on the first free end paper and some faint foxing and age-toning to the page edges. Overall, a very good copy.
